tag! ("tag!", "we", "our", or "us") operates the tag! mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App. Please read this policy carefully. We are committed to protecting the privacy of the families, parents, pet owners, and caregivers who use tag!. Because our App involves information about children, we take our obligations under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar laws very seriously.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

• Account information: name, email address, phone number, profile photo, and password.
• Role information: whether you are a parent/owner, sitter, or both.
• Children's information: first name, age, birthday, photo, and relevant care notes you choose to add. This information is provided by a parent or guardian and is never used for advertising or shared with third parties except as described in this policy.
• Pet information: name, type, breed, and photo, for coordination purposes.
• Request and scheduling data: dates, times, locations, and notes associated with care requests.
• Communications: messages sent between users within the App.
• Device and usage data: device type, operating system, IP address, and how you interact with the App.
• Location data: only when you explicitly choose to share your location within a conversation (requires your permission).

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account and provide the App's core features.
• Facilitate scheduling, coordination, and communication between parents, pet owners, and sitters.
• Send notifications you have opted into (push, email, or SMS).
• Respond to your support requests and improve the App.
• Ensure the security and integrity of our platform.

We do not sell your personal information or children's information to third parties. We do not use children's data for advertising or marketing.

• With other users you have added to your circle, to the extent necessary for childcare and pet-care coordination.

We do not share children's personal information with any third party except the service providers described above, and only to the extent necessary to operate the App.

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

tag! is a platform for parents and guardians to coordinate childcare. Parents and guardians may add profiles for their minor children to facilitate care coordination. We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create their own accounts or use the App directly.

Information about children is entered by and visible only to the parent or guardian and the caregivers they explicitly authorize. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information about a child without appropriate parental consent, please contact us at privacy@tagapp.org and we will promptly delete it.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encrypted storage, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and enable two-factor authentication.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at privacy@tagapp.org. We may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
